Purpose

At Research Solutions business at Life Science, we support researchers in academia, pharmaceutical, materials, analysis and various other industries who tackle the world’s toughest problems through innovative approaches. Commercial Marketing Specialist manages our product portfolio and drives marketing strategy and initiatives for the franchise of cell culture reagents and related tools. Responsible for providing input for new product development, conducting training, and supporting any other activity that enhances the company’s brand, visibility, and market share. Besides, Commercial Marketing Specialist will be key interface to represent marketing needs of our customers and internal customer-facing functions (Sales, Customer Service, Technical Service). The position includes both strategic and operational elements and requires communication skills as we work as a team to generate leads, execute campaigns, promote brands, drive future growth initiatives, and improve processes.

 

Scope of Responsibility

  • Total sales revenue supported: Around 10M Euro

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop marketing strategy for the assigned portfolios (Mainly for cell culture reagents and related tools)
  • Conduct analysis of the market in terms of customer needs, market dynamics, competition, and product application instances.
  • Perform VOC and other market research as necessary.
  • Develop marketing strategy and execution plan in line with the Research Solutions’ commercial strategies. Communicate and align with sales and other organizations to activate the plan and achieve revenue targets.
  • Generate leads by coordinating events, conference and exhibitions working with cross functional teams (Digital / Marketing Communications / Technical Service / Sales).
  • Provide regular updates and analysis of the market, revenue, and results of initiatives. Take appropriate measures through deployment of marketing mix.
  • Collect VOC directly to assess impact of product positioning, brand equity, customer satisfaction and marketing effectiveness.

 

  1. Manage the assigned product portfolio
  • Manage existing product portfolio along with product life cycle.
  • Responsible for marketing operations to activate sales, including product registration, inventory level monitoring, and procurement direction.
  • Connect with global and regional product management team for issues requiring cross-regional coordination.
  • Prepare for the successful launch of new products.

 

  1. Position the brand and products externally with customers and partners
  • Liaise with relevant internal departments to ensure that customer needs are met and that customer requirements are fully communicated throughout the business.
  • Establish close relationships with KOLs and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop marketing collateral and other contents to promote brand and products.

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • MS or MSc in life science, biology, chemistry or related science fields.
  • At least 3 years of work experience within a large establishment with hands on exposure to strategic / commercial marketing, customer segmentation, product positioning, and sales enablement.

 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Knowledge and exposure in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Life Science, Biology, Chemistry, Analytical or bulk chemical business
  • Knowledge and experience of market dynamics and regulatory environment in Life Science and Pharma industry is a plus
  • Understanding of marketing principles and commercial drivers in a diversified product industry
  • Market intelligence skills around research, data collection, and analysis
  • Ability to analyze and resolve or assist personnel in solving complex sales problems, oversee root cause investigations and the preparation of written report of findings
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills in a global environment
  • Work experience within matrix organizations and networking in cross-functional teams
  • Learning agility
